The tango dancer is waiting for her partner

At the beginning of the Twentieth Century the suburbs of Buenos Aires were bursting with salons and clubs. The nostalgia felt by many European immigrants found its way of expression through tango. The nights were filled with the sounds of accordions, violins and guitars. After a long day at work, couples congregated in the salons or the streets to dance, and in this way ease the longing for their homeland. Tango soon spread and today is practised in many countries.
