Few days ago, I have the opportunity to participate in the OjodePez Photo meeting Barcelona 2014. During three days emerging talent and long established photographers get together and share their experiences. A number of talks, seminars and portfolio reviews put the city on the spotlight, confirming Barcelona as one of those places to be for contemporary photography. To my delight, I was selected to take part in a workshop by Spanish photographer Luis Baylón. The following photos are part of the uncanny city project taken during the workshop. My idea of the uncanny comes from Freud’ theories about the frightening and alien behind the familiar. The uncanny city portrays the city streets in a way that something unknown seems to inhabit alongside common events. A mysterious world lives in the city.
